A short time ago, an old friend posted a beautiful picture she and her son Leo had taken of a red sunflower he'd grown. (pictured below) I asked my friend if she'd mind if I share it, and she consented. I told her I would try to do it justice by writing something to include with the picture. It had been some time since we spoke, yet I'd had it on my mind all evening, so I sat down and wrote. No sooner had I finished, I opened Facebook, and the first post at the top of my page was one by her with yellow sunflowers, saying she has to keep reminding herself that beauty is everywhere. I thought to myself, yes, there is beauty, and it will continue to flourish as long as there are good souls like her and her son honoring and sharing that beauty.

SonFlower

She, with her gentle spirit
and love of all things good
in nature, created beauty.
Through the beauty of nature,
she created a son.
She, with her beautiful son,
shared all her love, and
all that she loved.
He, her beautiful son, blessed
with the gifts of her gentle
spirit and love of all things
good in nature, shared her
love, and created beauty
